Welcome to ZimbabweParaguay.orgThe Sustainable Living FoundationSave the date, Sunday April 5, 2009! ZIM RUN #10See the ZIM RUN 2008 Photos ~ 3 galleries and a Best Of album!
You can make a difference in a child's life today. The 2008 run is over, but you can still help. Mazvita! Thank you! The 9th Annual Run for Zimbabwe Orphans and Zimbabwean Fair took place on Sunday April 6. On May 8, an amazing $32,500 was sent to Makumbi Children’s Home! A total of $30,000 was sent in 2007 so this is an increase of $2,500. Due to your generosity, the vital needs of the children at Makumbi will be taken care of for another year! A big thank you goes to all who volunteered, ran and donated funds! Please help us plan for the 10th Annual Run for Zimbabwe Orphans and Zimbabwean Fair that will be held in the spring of 2009.
Father Stephen Silungwe It was both inspirational and educational having Father Stephen Silungwe SJ visit the 9th Annual Run and be our Awards Presenter. Father, who was the interim director of Makumbi Children’s Home, was a wealth of information on the projects of Makumbi. Father studied at Marquette University for his MBA and is heading back to Zimbabwe in July. Thank you Father Stephen for gracing us with your warm personality and smile.
Allan-Noe Ortiz and Nicola Santora represent the joy of philanthropy. Allan, age 4, of Even Start Pre School arrived at the Zimbabwe Run after both 220 yard run for Pre-Schoolers and the ½ mile run for Kindergarteners had gone off! That didn’t pose a problem to Allen. He raced through the entire mile of the boys’ 1st and 2nd grade race in a great time of 12 minutes and 17 seconds. Please click on the button Division Results for this year’s race results!
