2011 12th Annual Run for Zimbabwe Orphans and Fair was a great success.

To date the 12th Annual Run for Zimbabwe Orphans and Fair has brought in $34,000! This is the 2nd largest amount raised over 12 years! Also, we had the largest crowd of runners ever: 410!

Your contributions will purchase:

  • Nine solar cookers
  • Six indoor toilets
  • A fence to circle the garden of the orphanage
  • Sand for the playground
  • Sponsorship ($350 a year for one orphan) for 100 orphans

The Sustainable Living Foundation has two projects:

The Run for Zimbabwe Orphans and Fair.  This family event is held each spring at St. Joseph School in Mountain View, Ca. benefits Makumbi Children’s Home in Zimbabwe.   The tentative date for The 13th Annual Run and Fair is Sunday March 25, 2012. 

Gardens for Paraguay.  The Sustainable Living Foundation seeks on-going funding for Red de Huerta, Garden Network, in Pilar Paraguay.  This garden network of five gardeners and 26 gardens serves the poor neighborhoods of San Rocco and San Lorenzo.
